•     In essential beliefs — we have unity.
“There is one Body and one Spirit...there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all...”  Ephesians 4:4-6
•     In non-essential beliefs — we have liberty.
“Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters...  Who are you to judge someone else’s servant?  To his own master he stands or falls...  So then each of us will give an account of himself to God...  So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.”  Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22
•     In all our beliefs — we show charity.
“...If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains — but have no love, I amount to nothing at all.”  1 Corinthians 13:2 (Ph)

There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe.  He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  These three are co-equal and are one God.

Genesis 1:1, 26, 27, 3:22; Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 5:8; 28:19; Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2; 2

Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust, as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures. He is now at the right hand of the Majesty on high as our great High Priest. He will come again to establish His kingdom of righteousness and peace. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is God, the Son.  He is co-equal with the Father.  He lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross.  He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death.  He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:22, 23; 26:64; Luke 1: 36-38; John 1:1-5; 14:10-30; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 1:3, 4; 5:9; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4; Philippians 2:6-11; 1 Timothy 6:14, 15;Titus 2:13; Hebrews 2:9; 4:14, 15; 2:23-24; 8:1; 1 Peter 3:18

The Holy Spirit is a divine person, sent to indwell, guide, teach and empower the believer and convince the world of sin, of righteousness and of Judgment. The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God.  He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ.  He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation.  He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.  He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved.  As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

John 14:15-18; 16:7-13, 14:16, 17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 1:13; 5:18

The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice. The Bible is God’s Word to us.  It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.  It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.  Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.

Psalm 119:105,160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5; 2 Timothy 1:13; 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21

Man was originally created in the image and likeness of God. He fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All men are born with a sinful nature, are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ. The prospect of the impenitent and unbelieving person is existence forever in conscious torment, and that of the believer in Christ is everlasting joy and bliss. People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character.  People are the supreme object of God’s creation.  Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”.   This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; 59:1, 2; Romans 3:23; 1 Corinthians 15:20-23; Revelation 21:8, 1-4

Salvation has been provided thorough Jesus Christ for all men, and those who repent and believe in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life and become the children of God. Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it.  We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works.  Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty.  When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved.  Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

John 14:6, 1:12; Romans 5:1; 6:23; Galatians 3:26; Ephesians 2:8, 9;Titus 3:4-7

It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly, being separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to the will of God, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service. This is both a crisis and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer subsequent to conversion. Sanctification is freedom from the power of sin. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to save us from the sin of the flesh, the world and the devil. When we submit our wills to His will we overcome sin and demonstrate the love and life of Christ. We cannot live sanctified lives apart from the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Daily dependence upon Christ is the progressive work of the Holy Spirit. But there may be a time when you go through a very distinct crisis and are awakened to a fresh revelation of God’s will and power for service.

Acts 1:8; Romans 6:1-14; 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the mortal body. Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the Scriptures and are privileges for the Church in this present age. The Bible describes three kinds of healing in Acts 1:28. 1) God’s healing protection (v.5) – when illness or injury is expected but it doesn’t happen because of God’s healing protection. 2) Immediate healing (v.8) – when God heals instantly and miraculously usually as a witness to the lost. 3) Cured (v.9) – when God heals through therapy and the process of time.

Matthew 8:16-17; Acts 28:1-10; James 5:13-16

The Church consists of all those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church, which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the Gospel to all nations. The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the gospel and observance of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The Church is about people. The Church is the body of Christ and He is the Head of the body. The Church is not perfect because people are not perfect. However the Head, Jesus Christ, is perfect and we are being made perfect by Him. When a person becomes a believer the Holy Spirit draws him to gather with other believers for mutual edification and equipping. People who want nothing to do with the Church may have been hurt by a part of the Church. There is no excuse for not continuing as part of the Church with confidence that God is in control.

Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:41-47; Ephesians 1:22-23

There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life; for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment. People were created to exist forever.  We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation.  To be eternally separated from God is Hell.  To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life.  Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

John 3:16; 5:28-29; 14:17; Romans 6:23; 8:17-18; 1 Corinthians. 2:7-9; 15:20-23; Titus 2:11-14; Revelation 20:15

The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent and will be personal, visible and premillennial. This is the believer's blessed hope and is a vital truth that is an incentive to holy living and faithful service. There are several viewpoints on when Christ is returning but all agree that He is coming again to reign on earth triumphantly. His return is imminent, meaning that it could be any time. It is personal, meaning that the same Lord Jesus Christ that ascended into heaven before many witness will return in like manner - visibly and in person. It is premillennial meaning that it will occur before the 1000 year period of Christ’s reign on earth.

Luke 21:27; Hebrews 10:37; Titus 11-14; Revelation 20
